We saw early in our journey, that the capacity of individual leaders to step back and begin to self-reflect was critical to their development and their ability to develop others and bring innovation to their organisation. Roger H Evans first book The Creative Manager was co-authored with Peter Russell and published at the beginning of the 1990s and is based upon the work, Roger and Peter carried out during the 1980s. They were two of the early pioneers helping Business Leaders free themselves from restrictive personal and corporate mindsets, thus enabling, them to step back and see the world and others around them in different ways, freeing innovation and creativity.

They were able to:-

  • Help leaders to understand the nature of change and what it requires from them as individuals to align lead and manage change and engage hearts as well as minds in any change process
  • Support leaders to develop their vision and align their goals and values and at the same time build leadership development and transformation through working with others
  • Support leaders with tools which made them more self aware and competent; which in turn made the group more aware of itself and competent; and furthermore which made the whole system more aware of itself and competent
  • Measure and map the readiness of senior leaders and their organisations to build new leadership mindsets and drive and deliver effective change
  • Transfer new mindsets really quickly into the organisation through support and project based education
  • Monitor and map the progress of the entire realignment process with metrics to allow corrections, adaptation and adjustments

'The Creative Manager' formed the basis of the CLC consulting methodology and provided the springboard for the research in the late 1990's / early 2000's that uncovered - 5DL - the Five Dimensions of Leadership which will be published in 2014.
